Pécs University History Collection
The care and management of the Klimo Library and the Pécs University History Collection are provided by the Department of Historical Collections. In 2023, the University of Pécs celebrated the 100th anniversary of the relocation of the Erzsébet University to Pécs. As part of the centenary program series, the permanent university history exhibition on Szepesy Street has been renewed, presenting the history of the university and its predecessor institutions from the medieval university founded in 1367 to the 21st century.
The new exhibition presents the history of the university’s faculties by discipline, the work of the professors who teach there, student life, and scientific activities. The university’s clinics and their healing activities also form a separate unit, enriched with medical instruments, photographs, and patients’ recollections. The Klimo Library and the Pécs University History Collection are maintained by the Department of Historical Collections.
